EUCALYPTUS – THE PLANT
Scientific name: Eucalyptus Globulus. Description: Long-living evergreen tree with a height around 80-90 m., of the Myrtaceae family. There are more than 500 species of it on earth. Origins: From Australia. It was brought to Europe in the 18th century and the first one in Greece was planted in the Botanical Garden of Athens in 1864.

Technique: Extracted from the leaves of the plant through steam distillation. Scent: Strong, woody, similar to that of camphor, and colour starting colourless and becoming yellow over time. Country: Italy.
